Dine India

Nestled in the heart of Countesthorpe, Leicester, Dine India stands out as a modern Indian restaurant that seamlessly fuses tradition with innovation. Located at 62 Main St, this spot isn’t just another curry house - it’s where Indian cuisine meets creativity, served with warmth, flair, and a generous helping of spice. Whether you’re a solo diner, planning a dinner with friends, or just craving a flavoursome takeaway, this place is a reliable go-to that locals keep coming back to.

Step inside, and you’ll notice the vibe immediately: relaxed yet refined, inclusive and accessible - quite literally. With a wheelchair-accessible entrance, car park, seating, and toilet, Dine India has gone the extra mile to welcome every guest with ease. But it’s the menu that truly steals the show. It’s one of those places where you’ll want to try everything, and somehow, the chefs make it all shine.

Let’s start with the classics - the Chicken Tikka Starter sets the tone: succulent, smoky, and spiced to perfection. Follow that with a bowl of Vindaloo if you’re bold enough for the heat, or opt for something milder like a creamy Korma or the ever-popular Chicken Tikka Masala. The Lamb Khari is a rich, slow-cooked delight that keeps meat lovers happy, while the Bhindi Masala makes an excellent vegetarian option.

The Garlic Naan is fluffy and charred just right - ideal for mopping up sauces - and there’s a generous chutney selection to elevate every bite. And if you think it’s just about Indian fare, think again. You’ll find surprises like Paella and even Octopus on the menu, showing off the chef’s range and ambition. For dessert? Go playful with the Mr Punky Ice Cream and a Mr Egg, or stick with a smooth Vanilla Ice Cream to wrap things up.

Dine India’s drink menu deserves its own spotlight. A great beer selection, a solid wine list, and expertly crafted cocktails make this more than just a place to eat - it’s a place to unwind. Whether you're enjoying a cold lager with your Tandoori Chicken, or sipping wine alongside a fragrant Karahi, the pairings just work.

The restaurant is also a great shout for halal and vegan diners. With dishes clearly marked and thoughtfully prepared, everyone gets to enjoy something flavourful. And yes, they offer all-you-can-eat options too - ideal for the indecisive or just plain hungry.

Prefer a cozy dinner at home? Dine India’s got your back with delivery and takeaway services that don’t skimp on quality. The food arrives hot, fresh, and beautifully packaged, so you can enjoy restaurant-level dishes from your own sofa.

There’s something undeniably confident about the way Dine India handles its wide-ranging offerings. It’s not just a restaurant - it’s an experience, and a reminder of how great Indian cuisine can be when it’s treated with care, passion, and a bit of personality.

Dine India has been open 25 years and is still one of my favourite restaurants. They have some great veg options which taste better as they use fresh ingredients. The staff are always make you feel welcome, and know their regular customers well. Highly recommended.
